Allbirds sold their sole
Allbirds, the eco-friendly shoe company, is now a data center company. They sold their shoe IP rights for $39 million and are now all in on powering AI.
…because of course they are ($$$).
Here’s where things get really tricky: Allbirds is a Benefit Corporation, which means they are required to generate a positive impact on society and the environment. Their investors invested in the shoe company strictly because of their pro-environmental stance.
Now, they’re shifting focus away from environmental sustainability in order to power data centers for maximum profit.
Sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Climate Billionaire
Tom Steyer is our new favorite billionaire.
Hear us out…
He’s given hundreds of millions (if not billions) to climate work.
He wrote a NYT Best Selling book on climate action
He publicly condemns the oil & gas industry
He believes clean energy unlocks affordability
He’s running for Governor of California
When it comes to climate advocacy, this dude is the real deal.
Why can’t all billionaires be like this guy?
